Students

Today was a tough day and I just want to throw it away and not think about it again. I'm blogging this simply so that I can remember that I teach because I love my students, not because of the staff relations I share. If it wasn't for my students, I wouldn't have made it through the day. My goal is to focus my energy, efforts and positive attitude towards my students and not towards the negativity, chaos and craziness outside my classroom. My students don't read my blog (at least I don't think they do), but I thank them for keeping my sanity, being flexible and just being themselves. I need to be more like them...we could all learn a lot from a 6th grader (believe it or not).

I'm thankful for a couple of days off (well sort of) and I look forward to spending my mid-winter break, quietly working in my classroom without any interuptions. Maybe I can catch up....or perhaps just get some grading done. In the meantime, while working my classroom, I will dream of the warm, sunny vacations that many Kirkland families take during this time of year. If Costa Rica, Hawaii, or some other warm, tropical place was cheaper to travel to, I would probably be there instead of in my classroom (shh....don't tell my students). I do love spending time in my classroom, but a sunny get away would be nice!
